  • 2016 Circle filtering

We measure many parts with 3 internal segments that define a diameters. The filtering guide states that using a cylindrical filter is appropriate for this application.
My question is, if I constructed a circle using a gaussian filter from the 3 scanned segments would it be the same as individually filtering using the cylindrical filter?

    Edit:
So I tested it on one circle.
Max inscribed circle Cylindrical filter Diameter = 44.9942 Roundness = 0.0031
Max inscribed circle Gaussian filter within the constructed feature Diameter = 44.9931 Roundness = 0.0038
