How to do a interative aligment from CAD Model to part?

I had a roughing part from operator, and they wanted me to inspect this part to make sure it still had stock before they'll sent it out for heat treat.
.I import a cad model into Pc-Dmis, but coordination system is not on cad model. How do I do a interative aligment to inspect my part by using a cad model to make sure it still has stock from a cad model.

IF they have left a pre-determined amount of stock (say, 0.010"), then simply use that for a thickness value in the points you use for the iterative alignment and continue to use that thickness for al lthe points you check. Set your tolerance for the point to a +1.000 and minus, lets say 0.005". If everything checks in tolerance, then they have at LEAST 0.005" of stock (the 0.010 thickness minus the lower limit of 0.005)
