  • Constructing features

I'm trying to create a line or a point at the area circled in the picture. I tried intersection with a line, pierce point, auto, using the radius and the plane. The program keeps putting the line or points in different places and not at the circled location. any ideas

Would changing the workplane have any affect on this?

ScottP815 Create a line on each of the flat surfaces then use each line and the cylinder to create a pierce point. NOTE: The line vector must be pointing towards the area of the cylinder you want to pierce. If it is not, it will pierce the other side of the cylinder. When you are selecting the features to construct the pierce point, select the cylinder first then the line.

Edit to add: The current workplane has no effect on this type of construction.
