  • Convert Auto Feature to Points

    The auto feature dialogue has a button to convert to points but it is disabled (grayed out). I've changed the settings editor ToPoints option to true but it is still disabled. Anyone know, how to enable this? The help file says something about changing a setting in quick features or measurement strategy but I don't see anything. There is a thread back a few years ago about converting auto features to points but apparently this function did not exist back then because there was no mention of it. I'm using PC-DMIS 2020 R1. Thank you!

    It only works on certain features (Planes, circles, cylinders). I don't think it works for lines, cones, slots, or spheres.
    It also will not work if you are using adaptive scanning.

      Once you have created the feature, you can't go back to edit it to be "to points". You would have to construct the auto feature again but select the "to points" button before creating the feature.

      That being said, there is coding you can use to use individual hits in the feature but a special line of code would have to be written for each hit. Depending on the number of hits in your auto feature, it may be more prudent to remake the auto feature.
