  • 4.2 / Stats Count

Anybody else get the stats count not correct in 4.2? I'm running a 30pc capability with the stats going to DataPage and the report printing at the end of each part. PC-DMIS says part #1 is part #1, Datapage says part 1 is part 1, but the report says it's part #2. They are all off by 1. #1 does not print as #1.

Am I missing something, or is this widespread?
Thanks in advance, and Happy Friday.

It has done that for a long time, depending on HOW you printed to a file. If you look at the STATS COUNT line, it has been right in th epast, however, I have custom headers that I use and I always delete out the PC-DUMASS header stuff and just leave my custom header. Part of the custom header is the command:
    SAMPLE NUMBER = #SEQUENCE
where #SEQUENCE should pull the current stat count value and report it. It has ALWAYS added one to the stat count value. If that is what you are using to get the stat count in the report, I would not be surprised that it is wrong. This was reported BY ME to BS at one time.

I may not be much help here because I haven't loaded 4.2 yet (not planning on doing it until I return from vacation on the 29th) but I had that going on with 4.1... Is it automatically printing the report or are you manually printing the report?

My guess is that is will be off by one since the stats count is written to the stats file & then incremented. This is done at program execute start so I imagine if the report grabs the info after that is performed it will grab the incremented number. I never really looked at that before.

Did anyone figure out how to correct this issue? I decided to torture myself today by running 4.2mr1 and ran across this again...

Does it really matter? I run a study to capture the stats not a piece of paper. In fact, I don't print out paper copies of my studies, I only print to .pdf.

I think one solution is to edit the header template (or whatever template is being used) and change STAT_COUNT to STAT_COUNT-1

No, it really doesn't matter. It's just kind of annoying...
