  • Changing OOT text style

In the past we have defaulted to Text ONLY format and the OOT have been in a dark bold. With a recent update to 2020 they now report has red. Red is not ideal due to only using a black and white printer. I was able to make the change to the "legacy dimension label" but not the Text ONLY format. I can not locate the correct label for Text Only.

    Any help is appreciated.

Edit/Preference/Edit Windows Colors. Highlight Dimensions and Click Edit and change the color there.

He wants to change OOT color in the report template, not in the EDIT window, or is it connected ?

I made a tutorial video on this exact topic a few years ago. You can watch it here: https://blog.cmmxyz.com/blog/out-of-...ext-formatting

If it is only the print out that you have problems with, does setting the output options to "print black and white" help?

Yes, didn't realise it was so large until after I'd attached it. Must be to do with the high screen resolution of my new laptop

I do not have an old report unfortunately to compare but is there a way to switch the red OOT to black/bold in this report format?

And give a LIKE for Trevor McLaughlin and give a response to the forum of what you did, or if this solved your problem, we are not at your beck and call, we are all on here to help each other. It will help the next person that has the same issue, It will also help you get a response next time you have an issue.

It looks like on older programs I get this readout: Capture1.PNG
      New Program:

I prefer to keep using the initial old readout vs the new. But im guessing this is no longer an option in 2020 R1

Did you try Right-Clicking this area, should pop up this window, then make sure you check this, don't have 2020 so don't know if it works. Don't right click on any of the labels, because you'll get a different pop up.

Be aware that "Use Text Mode Dimension Reporting" on supports legacy dimensions. There is another post where this is currently being discussed https://www.pcdmisforum.com/forum/pc...porting-2020r2

Wow neil.challinor another broken or failed problem with the Demon, why am I not surprised? I'm just glad they don't make cars or the tires would fall off within a block.

It's not broken. It has never supported XactMeasure dimensions - as I have pointed out in the other post.

If you say so neil.challinor I've never had a problem with it.

The problems are generally if you try to report more than one feature in the same XactMeasure callout - like if you do position of a pattern of holes. You will only see the results for the first feature.

Was there any resolution to this problem? I am in the same boat. I use text only reporting at my company and am looking for a way to make the out of tolerance dimensions really stand out. I looked through this thread and tried all of the suggestions, but nothing solves the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you report holes as a set it don't work if you do single callouts it works.

          Be careful here though.

If you have say 6 x Ø15.2 [POS|Ø0.1|A|B] and either A|B doesn't constrain all 6DoF OR there are material conditions on the datums, and you report them one at a time (in order to use TextMode reporting), the the datum shift will be applied in different directions (illegally) for each feature.

Also are people aware that in later versions there is a Plain Text Report which is black and white which has an OK column? It's a template style so it will report Xactmeasure dimensions.

NinjaBadger didn't say it was legal, just said what works and what don't, But me not thinking about it, glad you pointed that out.
