  • Alignment Rotation

Hi I'm new to this CMM thing. For example its a Cylinder and flat in the front of me and flange to the left and right.. Since I already establish my plane leveling as Y minus now which rotation should be using? Here are some possibility. 1. front plane leveling as Y minus then Rotate X plus about Y minus. 2. Leveling Plane as Y minus , Rotation X plus about Y plus. When I rotate the part can it be CW or CCW or it doesn't matter. This is probably easy for some of you. I'm new any help would greatly appreciated.

The vector of the plane gives the direction.
if you level about y minus, then rotate about it.

When it comes to rotating to features, the PLUS/MINUS doesn't make any difference for the about axis.
