  • Send the program name to the Report Template

    Good afternoon Ladies and Germs,

    I have a question for any of the 4.0+ savvy folks out there in DMIS land.

    I know a similar question has been addressed in one other thread, but mine refers to the ability of DMIS to send the program name either from the area that has your Part Name, Rev Number, Ser Number and Stats Count, or from the Label template where the Program name is located i.e PART NAME: _ _ _ _.

    I am having a fit trying to get the info from either of these spots, into my Report Template. I want to put this into the template so that each report will have at the bottom date, time, page number 1 of _, and the Program name, just so that if the hard copy of the report is laying around and someone doesn't staple them together we will know which piece of paper goes with which other piece of paper, or if I drop a stack of print outs that aren't stapled.

    This really should be in the template anyways. It used to be in the older versions.

    How to put the stuff any where you want it!

    Dear James,

    1st, Thanks for being a good friend, I've always appreciated your level headedness and sense of humor.

    -K Now: <click>File->Reporting-> Edit-> Report template->(choose report to edit)
    Open report editor:
    Choose the text box you wish to place the data in.
    <right click> This enables the property menu.
    Go to the property window in report editor. Make sure the "text" box is not checked, & at the "text" field you need to add this line in the property box "=partname()" and then press <enter>, tab won't work.
    also use:
    "=revnum()"
    "=systime()"
    for other cool things.

      Gabriel,

      You win the prize!!!

      Thank you. I had my date and time put in. I had a brain fart when I did my program name stuff. Thanks for the quick response. By the whey, I am using the 4.2 version dated 05-01-07, there might be another final version coming up but this one has all the little stuff taken care of. It's really a nice software to work with now. Not that it wasn't before it is just smoother. Like a menthol cigarette (I smoke Pall Malls but it sounds good).

      Again, Thanks Cumofo
