  • Calibration Y axis variance

My probe setup is a PH6 Renishaw with one vertical and one horizontal tips on a Sheffield CMM with version 3.7.
The problem is that I noticed a big variance in my Y measurements using the horizontal probe. I calibrated both tips multiple times and the vertical tip was consistant. The horizontal tip varied in the Y .045. Yes I checked to see if the tip was tight. I see the data change in the edit probe window in the Y .

Are you moving the calibration sphere between calibrations? How about touch speed? These can affect when the probe "senses" the hit.
When in doubt, post code. A second set of eyes might see something you missed.

I am not moving the sphere. Where is the setting on probe cal ? I switched to a shorter probe and this seemed to fix the issue. so touch speed could be the issue.
