Can anyone help how to and best way to calibrate scanning probe SP25M?

There is only one way. You will need to have the scan parameters set correctly based on your controller and complete system. The help files should explain the calibration routine options for the probe qualification window. For the SP25M you are limited in options. You must run the complete qualification cycle, there is no short cut, manual, or partial calibration options available for this scanning probe. When the machine was set up with this probe system you should have been given some basic instructions about how to qualify the probes and set/adjust scan parameters.

This is a stab at answering what I think you might be trying to ask. For more specific help you will need to be more specific. Things like what version of Pc-Demon, what brand & model of CMM, what controller, etc can all be important factors for questions like this.

Thank you, that is more what I have answers for at work. I adapted this machine. So all your answers will shine lots of light.

To add to, or should I say clarify this, there is no short cut the first time you calibrate a tip or after a reset of the tip. It will have to go through the full scan calibration, i.e. partial calibration unticked. Once it's done, you can tick the box for partial calibration and calibrate the tip with a number of hits instead of scanning it.

I was going thinking this as I was reading above. Partial calibration only works for tips and angles that have been scan calibrated before.

    Schrocknroll & A-machine-insp,

Is this new-ish ? The latest version I have used with an SP25 was 2015, but at that time there was no partial calibration for the SP25. I know there is partial calibration for other analog scanning probes, but not that one.

I've been using it since 2017 and it's always been that way.

    We have 2017 R2 version
    global advantage machine
    NJb next jog box controller

Will try calibrate sometime today, in help file is very limited to what to set parameters and how. I need pictures , sketch or some type of visual.

The NJB is the "Next Jog Box"*. That part of the CMM system is called the 'jog box'. The 'controller' is the interface between your computer and the CMM servos. Depending on the age of your machine it might be a DEA or DC controller.

As Kirbster pointed out, I am getting a bit long in the tooth, but when last I worked with an SP25 in Pc-Dmis some of the scan settings/parameters were controller dependent.

I would recommend calling Hexagon to help you with this as it is fundamental to using the machine and in part specific to your exact hardware/software configuration.

*Thanks Peter, I sit corrected. However I don't care what anyone says, UJB definitely is the "UGLY Jog Box". *Shudder* May I never touch another.

It actually is the the "Next Jog Box". But you're 100% spot on with the advice. I'm going to guess since it's an advantage it's a B3 but you never know, it could be a refurbished machine with a nice DC controller and yes scan parameters are certainly controller dependent. Winging it with scanning hardware is a good way break something.
