  • ASME Y14.5 PCDMIS 2017 R1 surface profile dimensioning

I am programming surface profiles using the ASME Y14.5 standard, should this not give me double the maximum dimension as my deviation? I am currently getting max - min as my deviation. I have tried changing the setting in the Settings Editor to USEISOCALCULATIONS=1 but that made no difference.

That setting is for legacy dimensioning, not Xact. ASME in Xact is two measurements, the Max and Min. ISO is double the max deviation.

USEISOCALCULATIONS=1 switches legacy dimensioning mode to ISO rather than ASME (ASME is the default).

bfire85 is correct about XactMeasure reporting Max & Min for ASME profile.

However, with 2020 R2 we are replacing XactMeasure with the new geometric tolerance command and this will support the newer ASME single value interpretation for profile.

"replacing XactMeasure with the new geometric tolerance command"

whatwhatwhat? I didn't see that enhancement yet. Are there any details available about this?

VinniUSMC Tech preview for 2020R2 is available.

Ah, thanks bfire. I don't normally test the previews.

There's a thread in the technical preview area of the forum (if you've signed up) and there was a webinar a few weeks ago https://www.hexagonmi.com/about-us/e...o-deal-with-it
