    Use:

    INSERT
    REPORT COMMAND
    EXTERNAL OBJECT
    CREATE FROM FILE
    find the JPG you want.
    OK

Since Jan appears to be missing today, I'll answer for him:
Go to V4.2, Go to V4.2, Go to V4.2

I don;t know if that will fix it or not

The ones I tried would not run at all with a picture inserted.

What would happen if you create a Word document and then call it up with a DOS command?

Place the cursor by the icon. Hit F3, the icon should be yellow, With the yellow going "outside" the borders. There are 4 options , I think this is the second.

Man, I am having a hard time putting this concept in english, I hope this makes sense.
When in doubt, post code. A second set of eyes might see something you missed.

I have tried to do this, but it will not let me select "External Object"... whats going on?

I like to use .bat files like
                  EXTERNALCOMMAND/NO_DISPLAY, NO_WAIT ; C:\PCDMISW\PROGRAMS\047100\047108\047108START1.BAT

with some type of shizz in the .bat file like:

                  start C:\PCDMISW\PROGRAMS\047100\047108\047108start1.wav

I know lots of werk, but I can change the .bat to do anything and the base file also, so it's really easy to make funny jokes on the operators.

                  but check this thread:

I have used the External Comand in several programs without a problem. You do have to be careful not to have a space or a - in any of your file names. I am running 4.1 and loading the program did not take any longer.

I have tried it in 3.7mr2 with no problems but I haven't done anything with it in 4.1mrcrap... If I get a chance to get on another machine while my CCT programs are running, I will give it a shot.
