programming hit points along a vector line

Is there a way to program hit points along a vector line? I am trying to measure a profile that is extruded around a half circle. Is there a way that I can "lock" one of my axes in programming mode and have the other points calculated from the cad model? Hopefully I've described what I'm looking for well enough. It's early on Monday and I haven't had my coffee yet

create a scan, linear open , closed or perimeter, generate then hit the hit "TO PONTS" tab and you will have generated points along the path with correct vectors
