  • Zeiss jogbox and axis movement issues.

Is anyone else here using the Zeiss BP26 jogbox?

I mashed some keys (don't ask) and now my jog speed in X axis (and only the X axis) is really slow. Y and Z work fine.

Does anyone have any documentation on this jogbox with the C99 controller?

    Thanks for any help!

Try some combination of the "X" key and the "> >/>" key, the latter being the one that changes movement speed. Where you have this issue in only one axis, I'm not totally sure.

Yes, pressing this button makes it move even slower! I feel like it might be moving at the "touch" speed and not the jog speed. I'll see if I can measure it.

I had posted on the Zeiss forum as well, and someone over there posted the procedure for calibrating the joysticks, and calibrating the x axis solved my problem!

          Here's the procedure:

          Joystick calibration.
The CMM should be turned on with a connection between Calypso and the CMM.

          Y-axis calibration:
On the joystick box press the shift lower return, and then press the up arrow key this will light up the (y) axis, then press the return key one time, then hold the y axis joystick in the neg position and press the return key, then hold the y axis joystick in the pos position and press the return key, then with the y axis joystick in the neutral position press the return key.

          X-axis calibration:
Next: on the joystick box press the shift lower return, and then press the right arrow key this will light up the (x) axis, then press the return key one time, then hold the x axis joystick in the neg position and press the return key, then hold the x axis joystick in the pos position and press the return key, then with the x axis joystick in the neutral position press the return key.

          Z-axis calibration:
Next: on the joystick box press the shift lower return, and then press the down arrow key this will light up the (z) axis, then press the return key one time, then hold the z axis joystick in the neg position and press the return key, then hold the z axis joystick in the pos position and press the return key, then with the z axis joystick in the neutral position press the return key.

          Rotary Table -axis calibration:
Next: on the joystick box press the shift lower return, and then press the left arrow key this will light up the axis, then press the return key one time, then hold the z axis joystick in the left position and press the return key, then hold the z axis joystick in the right position and press the return key, then with the z axis joystick in the neutral position press the return key. Note this is for a rotary table but go through the calibration anyway because it is in the controller that it looks at your calibration.

This should have your joystick calibrated, but when you turn the drives back on if it moves slowly in any direction you missed one of the steps, so try the calibration again and make sure you follow the steps.
