    Using V3.7MR3 CAD++ PFx 4-5-4

    I have a part and I am looking into 2 different methods to construct a plane. I'd like to use edge points as there is very little room to move the probe around in a small width slot but when I tolerance the distance between the edge points it is not to CAD. If I construct 2 lines from 3 measured planes then tolerance the distance it comes out correct. Should the edge points on the surfaces not give me the same results? There is a 1.68mm difference between them.

    I tried swapping vectors on the edge points and that made no difference.

    TIA

    Try setting your origan to one of the planes then do the location in that axis to the other plane and see if that works. Just a thought.

      dwade,

      Another option (I know it does not directly answer question), is to use the edge point as a relative measure, and then take a surface point.
      Use the surface points to create your plane.

      As I said, just another idea. I'll keep watching for other ideas from our many gurus.
