  • Correct Approach to Creating Position Dimension Without Diameter Symbol?

    Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out how to create distance true position dimensions (DIM11 in this case) in PCDMIS for reporting. Is this the correct approach based on the attached screenshot of the print I'm working off of? I don't have the physical part with me to check, so I'm going off of CAD for now.

    1. Create plane on the 35mm face
    2. Convert to a Feature set
    3. Dimension the 0.3 AB true position using Xact Measure

    This is what I'm seeing in the report window after I create the above dimension:

    I'm thinking that the out-of-spec dimension is just a placeholder until I get my hands on the parts. Am I approaching this correctly?

    Actually, I think I figured it out.

    1. Create plane on the 35mm face
    2. Create DIM12
    3. Convert to a Feature set
    4. Attach DIM12 to the Feature Set as a diameter
    5. Create the DIM11 FCF.

      why would you have to convert it to a feature set ?

        Measure A, measure B, measure your plane. Create Position dimension.

        *** Make sure that you have the correct Planar Zone direction selected in the Xact dialog.
