  • New Sphere Calibration

    hello all,

I have created a new probe file 3mm x 20 mm and adding a new sphere ( there was no sphere on file) so I had to create a new one. When I try to calibrate my MASTER probe ( 3mm x 20mm ) I take a point on A0B0 on top of the sphere then click okay and the probe moves away from the sphere and tried to look for it some where else. I have never had this issue before. I ALSO HAVE THE SPHERE DEAD CENTER TO THE CMM. Capture.JPGCALIBRATION .JPG

You might want to double check the sphere diameter you entered. Unless it's the size of a beach ball!

Check your sphere diameter. 483 seems pretty big.

Is the sphere in the same place for calibration that it always is ? This probably doesn't even matter. You just created a new sphere and you have to tell the CMM where it is. Thats what the single hit is for on top of the sphere. Based on you having DCC and DCC selected, I seriously doubt you when you say that you took a hit on top of the sphere and then it drove some where else.

DCC/DCC would be used for a sphere that after your inital calibration never comes off the machine and is always in the exact same location. If you move the shere to a different location or its just attached to a subplate ground plate you put on your machine to calibrate. You need MANUAL / DCC

Totally missed that size of the sphere.... and 3 mm PREHIT / RETRACT ??? WHY ??? Thats an insane amount of added program run time just measuring air when you actually run a part program.
