Displaying Print Dimension as a range, not nominal number.

We work on certain parts where the blueprint will display a location, distance, etc. as a range, not a nominal number.

Is there any way for PC-Dmis to report dimensions out this way? Rather than having "1.00 ± .06", the print will call out ".940 - 1.06".

You have to take the range and figure out what the nominal is. Then you can report it. That’s what I do.

Yeah, that is what I have right now. Manager asked if it was possible to have the DMIS report show just like the print. Figured not, but had to check.

If you do it the way Mr. Mathew says then it will look like the print.

OR use the min as nominal and use -0/+xxx for the tolerance.

You could change the format to not show the nominal, show your plus tolerance as one limit and the neg as the other (you'll need to make it positive). I'm not sure how pleased I'd be with that but it would meet the managers request.
