  • Restoring Pcdmis 2018r1 to factory setting

    Hi everyone,
I just started here at a new company a week and a half ago. I am replacing someone that appear to just know enough to think they know everything. I am noticing things missing that should be standard. for instance none of the warnings pop up and when I look in F5 the warnings box is empty so its not just unchecking a box. also when trying to scan, it will let me set the whole process up but will not generate hits to complete the scan. there were a few other items that I noticed were turned on and I was able to fix them, but I'm thinking it would be best to start fresh. how do I reset the software? or is it best to uninstall then reinstall? the machine is a GLobal s green 5-5-5

Close entirely out of PC DMIS.

Open up "Settings Editor" for the version you're using. Click "Re-set User". When you reopen demon all settings will be exactly like a new install.

Hi I'm the guy you're replacing and I don't appreciate you knocking on me, I do really know EVERYTHING!!! Just kidding I don't know anyone, I've been quarantined a little too long.

Close Pc-Dmis and from your windows button explorer type "Settings Editor". In there you'll easily figure out how to reset everything.

Dan_M is correct, but I'd like to add to that. If you have multiple PC-DMIS installations (2018 R1, 2018 R2, etc.) when you restart PC-DMIS after the Reset User, it will import the settings from the prior version. One option is to perform this same procedure on all the versions, starting from the oldest to the newest.

KP61DUDE.... Funny I thought it was him for a minute. I tried reset like Dan M said, and while it did do what he said ( restore to factory) It still doesn't prompt any warnings. for instance if I change the id of a feature, it wont ask if I want to make it the default. and it goes right back to using default name ( cir1,pln1 etc.).

I do have 2018R1 and 2019R1 both installed for reference.

thanks, i ended up submitting a hexagon ticket , and they determined that it was the new Machine light ( LED's in the top of the z axis cover) feature, that even thought we werent using it, it was running in the background and somehow was restricting the software, not exactly sure, but he turned it off and i am back to normal with everything working nicely... whoda thunk it.
