  • Working from home problems

Because of COVID-19 I now need to work from home. Because of ITAR Restrictions using the free offline license that is offered is not an option for me. My company has set me up with a laptop so I can VPN into my work computer. I am able to open up PcDimis and edit programs but I cannot get my Cad window to show up. Anybody else have this problem or have any ideas how to solve this issue?

Do you have dual monitors at work? If so, the graphic window is probably out there beyond your laptop screen. Click on Window>Cascade and see if they pop back up.

Unable to open PC-DMIS from home when using remote to access work PC. I had entered a ticket to Hexagon and this was the reply: You will not be able to remote into your PC that has a portock in it. You would need to physically be at the computer. PC-DMIS will not allow remote access to PC-DMIS with a portlock. The only way to remote into another PC using PC-DMIS is with a floating license. A node locked license such as a portlock prevents remote access. You would need the physical portlock in your computer.

We do have a floating license. So in theory it should Work I guess. Everything does work except I cannot see cad window. Frustrating

I see the comments below and also agree...I teamviewer into 2 machines based in my office... 1 runs LMS another HASP.. both are operational. You can't run pc-dmis at home and try to use a license at work (HASP/Nodelocked LMS) but you could in theory use a floating LMS located at your works office... but that would require some form of vpn connection to it.

Sounds to me like you need to remove the HASP from the computer at work, install PC-DMIS using the floating CodeFromHome license, and then you should be able to access it remotely.

Wish we had a HASP now but we have a floating license

Perhaps your IT/setup/policies don't allow it, but for me? We have a HASP plugged into our Optiv Vision sys. (I doubt it matters if your machine is CLM)
I remote in from home with VN & TeamViewer to support the operators. The only thing needed is the pass/ID given from the TeamViewer at the Optiv machine computer and then I'm able to edit programs from home. The only thing I can't do is remotely use the jogbox. Hexagon has also used it remotely to help me troubleshoot issues.
