Program Mode Question

I use "Program Mode" to pick my own points all of the time..only this time it is acting different....it makes an individual point every time I click the surface instead of saving them until I hit the "END" key on my keyboard.

Why is it doing this?

You have 'point only mode' switched on.

On the probe mode (or something like that) tool bar there's a button for it (or I think it might be in f5 setup as well).

Yup..that did it.

I have NEVER clicked that box before and I have no idea how it got checked off.....

It's quite handy if you want to cover a freeform surface with points, and on a manual CMM you can switch that and the adjoining Find Nominals button on and just take hits all over the part without having to keep going back to the software to okay each point, quite useful in the right situation.
