All of our programs create a pdf of the report and send it to a centralized location on the network. Works great, been working great for years. I have three machines the share programs that are on that same network. Works great.

As if yesterday, one of our machines is now having an issue where it can't put it on the network. A box opens up asking where to put the report. It actually defaults to the correct location, which is weird to me.

The other two machines are fine. Works how they should work. Same part, on two different machines, one is correct, the other is not.

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Try assigning a drive letter to the server and use that as path to see if that works better (if you haven't tried that already).

Sounds like a Windows/UNC path issue. But could of course be a PC-DMIS issue as well.

Had that happen twice now. Try reinstalling or repairing the install and see if the fixes it. It worked both times for me. Did that on a recommendation from Hexagon.

I have been assisting our sister plant with creating new CMM programs in PCDMIS. I and the programmer there are using 2019r1, build #406 to create said programs. No issues until now. He has starting to encounter issues with creating the reports. We print and save them as .PDF files. Code is below: Create the PDF:

I'm going to assume that the users lost access to HKCC\Software\ in the registry again.

you can use FILE/MOVE command at end of your routine. Save the file locally, then MOVE it to your network folder. This way, at least you have the data without having to remeasure.

My IT department recently did some "policy upgrades" to the network, which seems to put ports effectively into some type of sleep mode, where it will disconnect inactive PC's from the intranet after a period of time.
This has wreaked havoc on our CMM's, OGP's, and MeasurLink interfaces. They are manually excluding the new policy for each network port that exhibits problems with production, as the problem arises. I've lost a lot of sleep in the past 2 weeks, as a result lol.

I was exactly as you were three weeks ago, but now after my experiences with 2019 I am exasperated and apathetic.

This is a classic symptom of your CMM machine being infected with Chip and Cable. Have you been sacrificing a goat on the CMM machine granite at midnight everytime there is a full moon? If not, I highly suggest you implement such a regime immediately, but know that while it is the best prevention/protection known, it is still only 85% effective against the dread Chip and Cable disease. Similar to Hoof and Mouth disease which affects cattle, Chip and Cable disease attacks healthy CMM machines causing them perform inadequately. Unfortunately there is no known cure. It is advised you take the CMM machine out back and shoot it in the controller with an EMP gun before the disease spreads to neighboring equipment. Then be certain to sanitize yourself and all equipment and personnel that came into contact with the infected CMM machine in the last 5 years with blue light techno craze. In my experience Die Antwoord works best. At maximum volume.
