That's the probe rack I have. The FCR25 is in there. What Version of DMIS are you using?

it worked! thank you. but one thing I don't understand is when the lids are close it crash into the lid when sliding forward to get the probe. if I hold open the lids then it picks up the probe just fine.

Don't know what to tell you there. I've never had that issue.

I'm thinking of just placing tape to hold open the lid.

      Thank you for your input.

I'm using 2019 R1 and I have it in there. Mine's hot glued to an old gage (found in a cabinet missing the stand) sitting in the back of the machine and it still works

I had to square it up to the machine a little better after that to get the pick and drop off to be a little smoother

I suggest you google the FCR 25 RENISHAW MANUAL...and get better instructions, with pictures. That worked for me with my SCR 200 had one set of instructions telling me to take this point in the middle...was on the label, and my fix was taking the hit on the corner off the frigging label I think from the Renishaw Manual.

really? I will do this right now. I came across an issue with probe crashing into the lids -_- if I hold them open it picks up the probe just fine. I'm going to tape them open lol

The lids should slide back (pushed by the SM probe body or SM module) when the probe moves in to pick up the module or stylus holder. I suppose you could call that a crash by design. The FCR25 modules are shipped with accessories - inserts for different configurations such as TP20 modules, SM25 Stylus Holders (SH), or no insert for SM modules. Additionally there should be some little plastic wedges, those are to place temporarily on the rack to hold the lids open during the rack calibration process. You could leave there all the time, but Renishaw designed the lids for a good reason - to protect the magnetic/kinematic connections from accumulating debris while sitting in the rack. I recommend using the lids as intended.

      Look here :
      ftp://ftp.wilcoxassoc.com/docs/v2019...ore_manual.zip
Then open "11_Defining Hardware.pdf", and read pages 110 to 127.
