  • 2019 R2 results very different from 2017 R2 results - same part

    We recently got a Global S Chrome new with 2019 R2 on it. We currently have a 2 or 3 year old formally EVO (almost the same as the new Chrome) that is running 2017 R2.

    Same program run on the Chrome and the former older machine with 2017 R2 gives really close results EXCEPT for the Summary Fit to Datums which is what our operators use to figure out what they need to move. I am assuming that it is a setting on the 2019 R2 machine but thought someone might have info. The two results attached were run on the same part on each machine. Can anyone explain what is going on here? The Chrome fit to datums summary cannot be correct! The 2019 R2 (Chrome) report is on top. The 2017 R2 (similar CMM - same probe - similar controller) is on the bottom of attached image.

    Construction of datums are very different between both versions, maybe the problem is here ?

      Same program, alignment is the same. Posting the code from each program. Looks almost exactly the same to me.

        What is being reported doesn't seem to match what is really there in the actuals. This was a different run from the previous report posted but the Summary Fit to Datum data is still not correct.

          I'm guessing that the bottom is 2019 version, Delete the callout and re-create it. I'm talking about your pictures being the bottom one. Xact measurement re-create

          Thanks, I just did that and it didn't change a thing. Exactly the same. BUT, fun fact, … when I changed the true position feature to the center pnt of that sphere instead of the sph itself, which will work since it doesn't have a material condition, it reports correctly.
