  • PC-DMIS will not index the probe head position

When trying to run the TIP/ command either inside a program, by the toolbar, or by manually typing the command in, the CMM will not index the head position. This is for any user logged into the CMM computer. We recently updated the Operating system from Windows8 to Windows10 but have not seen this on any other our other computers which are exact copies of this system and software (PC-DMIS CAD++ 218 R2 SP8) which were also updated. The execution dialog box appears but is empty until the press the Stop icon which then displays "Move Wrist to the A=0 B=0" (A=0 B=0 is just an example, this does this for any A and B). I can then hit the Play icon and the head will index. The head is a PH10M using a Renishaw PHC 10-2. The controller for the CMM is a Wendzel controller. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a valid SAM? If you do, I'd have them remote in through teamviewer and let them see what they see.

Will do. Didn't know if this was something someone may have seen before and would have a quick fix. Thanks.

I don't know my friend..upgrading your software shouldn't result in your wrist no longer working. Sounds like they've got some digging to do.

Migrating from Windows 8 to Windows 10 is rarely uneventful. There is a good chance that Windows changed communications around and the signal isn't being sent to the probe head controller.
