  • Accidentally Deleted Cal Sphere

So I accidentally deleted my cal sphere the other day. ( I'm really surprised that there was no text promt asking if I was sure I wanted to delete it.) I recreated it and calibrated A0B0 and a few other articulations I was using with manual hits first and then DCC. Then I proceeded to finish my program with no hiccups.

Now fast forward to today and I am working on a new program. I have 3 articulations... one is A0B0 and the others are new angles. I select Calibrate, mark used, measure, DCC and I get the error out of machine stroke in the Z with the A0B0 probe despite calibrating it yesterday inside a different program. If I use manual+DCC it works until the next articulation and then the same error message.

Its almost as if the origin of the cal sphere is off and I cannot figure out how to fix it. I know its probably simple and I'm overlooking a check box or something. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I can give additional information as well. Thanks for your help!

In the Probe Menu, click on Reset Tips and reset all your tips. Then recalibrate and select Yes sphere has moved.

The Demon will sometime log a different sphere location for a probe angle and crashes. Most of my parameter sets have reset tips selected as default for situations like this when the ghosts decide to play around with my machine.

This fixed it. Thank you. First time encountering this in 3 and a half years of programming.

If you have a probe rack, it would be best to implement a "master probe". look up forum posts related to what a master probe is, and how it's beneficial. Sora5 's post above would do the trick, but it could have unintended consequences if you calibrate the qual sphere while selecting "Yes Sphere has moved" with a probe that is bent or atypical.
