  • No point on cad model when clicked

    i am trying to take a hit on my model and instead of putting a point where i click, it puts in the middle of the cylinder. what is wrong?

    Are you using program mode to create measured features or autofeatures?
    PC-DMIS 2016.0 SP8

    Under the XYZ section of the window, is the far right button on? It's Snap to Grid, or something like that.

    The other alternative is you're in curve mode and want to be in surface mode.....

      Do you have surface mode or curve mode enabled? That sometimes gives me problems if there is wire frame in the CAD and I don't realize that curve mode is toggled on. If the axis of your cylinder is in the CAD as wireframe it could be snapping to that if curve mode is enabled.

      try
      Edit > graphic display window > CAD elements. Checkmark surfaces and Set as priority. Hold left mouse button down and draw a box around your model. Click apply. then OK.
      now try taking your hit.
