  • RTF Print in a loop

How to configure RTF printing in a loop? I have 6 parts on a fixture and I want RTF for each part to be saved on a custom location (not where my routine - program is saved). Custom location is D:\MEAS\06_0103_05_NAME. The name of RTF should be: 06_0103_05_NAME_DATE_VARIABLE1_VARIABLE2. Variable 1 and 2 are custom text.

Insert a PRINT/REPORT command in the loop?

I have trouble with RTF file. I get rtf file but it is over 2MB of size, it should be like 2kB. Word can open it, but it take a lot of time. When opened in Word it is not text that I can copy but some kind of segments - pictures, like puzzle. We use GausSPC to transform RTF to Excel and if it is not text no measurements.

You need to turn off the AMIUNI stuff and/or right click in the report window where the 'dimensions' are, select edit object and mark the use text only (even when you are using the text only template, you also have to do this to get text only)

What is AMIUNI, what does it do, where to turn it off and on? In report I have already choose text only template.

            USER_Printing/DoNotUseAmyuniRTF in Settings Editor.

This registry entry determines if PC-DMIS uses the old-style RTF output or the Amyuni RTF output. This setting only applies to the TextReportObject.

            Entry Name: DoNotUseAmyuniRTF

Entry Type: Whole number that specifies the RTF output option. The default value is 0.

            Output Option Key
            Value Output Option
0 RTF output uses Amyuni RTF output.
1 RTF output uses the old-style RTF if you selected the RTF output option in the Output Configuration dialog box before the measurement routine was executed. Setting the PRINT/REPORT command to RTF does not work correctly for this value.
2 RTF output uses the old-style RTF even if you have not selected the RTF output option in the Output Configuration dialog box before the measurement routine was executed. This is useful if the wrong control is used for reporting and it results in nothing being output if the flag was set to 1. Under all conditions, the correct text object is used to display text in the Report window.

I saw this in help, but what is the difference between old-style RTF output or the Amyuni RTF output? If I am going to change that I would like to know the background...

Amyuni will print to pdf and convert that pdf to rtf. This means bitmaps for labels. Not using Amyuni means pcdmis will use its internal method to output to rtf. This file should be able to be opened in wordpad. However not all reporting objects output in this format. This is basically for 3rd party parsers that want to read the rtf. I don’t think the more recent FCF or SIZE dimensions support such output.
