  • Scanning probe crashing into calibration ball

    Hi all,

I'm trying to calibrate my 3by50 tip and it crashes into the cal sphere. I use a 3by21 as a master probe and it calibrates okay. then i pick up my 3by50 and first it calibrates as it normally would with touch trigger, then it goes to scan. It scans across the sphere horizontally and it does well. Then it goes to do another scan and it crashes. It gives me a deflection error. I don't understand what's happening. I tried changing some of the clearance distances and it does the same thing, scans okay the first time and crashes on the second scan. Please help

I don't know if this matters-Number of hits (8), Manual, calibration mode are all greyed out. I also changed my prehit/retract to .300" and the movespeed was by deafult 100, touchspeed 2

Verify that the size of the datum sphere is correct.

I also tried Calibrate Scan RDV and Partial Calibration to see what happens. It didn't let me do anything, it said it needs a full calibration first. Use trax is checked and greyed out. I wanted to try increasing hits but also greyed out

I did, it says the exact same size and type of sphere. It's Ceramic .9837". I also deleted and rebuilt the probe. The 3by21 calibrates good so i don't understand. And it takes the first scan okay

corrupt probe file maybe. Delete the probe file, then make it again.

I did a couple times. I'm not on my computer so i can't upload a pic, but here is the setup-if you see anything wrong

                  Cal validity -1
                  cal interval -1

Did you name it something completely different.
If you name it the same the corrupt data is stored down in the controller and won't help you.

Scanning calibration for SP25 doesn't use the same way than others scanning head, because the head deflection is very different (that's why "use trax" is greyed out).
I think (I don't have sp25...) that there's a special dll or exe that drives this calibration. Maybe re-install it could help ?

After turning the machine off and restarting everything-it calibrated. I started programming not too long ago-so honestly have no idea what the dll or exe is
