    Issue Fixed

    I had a read only issue on one of the folders in the hierarchy where my program was saved.

    Unchecked read only and unchecked my show report box, re-saved program, issue is resolved.

    thanks for all of your help!

    Using 2019 R2..

    I am trying to send dimensional data to an excel file in the background without my operators having to do anything.

    It works the first time (set up like you see in picture below). For part #2 and all subsequent parts in the run, PC DMIS keeps on automatically re-selecting the box that makes it "Show Report" and I have to click cancel when it keeps on wanting to pop up.

    This will SERIUOSLY screw me over when I go to loop this program.

    Do you have multiple print commands? And are you using the "Execution Report Print Setup" or using code print commands?

      Yes, actually.

      I am using a print command for a custom PDF path. Is something below mesing me up? I am unfamiliar with the print command...just learned how to use it..

      Code:
      ASSIGN/PROG_NAME=GETPROGRAMINFO ("PARTNAME")
                    ASSIGN/REPORT_NAME="O:\\CMM PROGRAMS\\CMM_PDF_PC DMIS\\AG04594_FINAL_01\\"+PROG_NAME+"__"+SERIALNUMBERQUESTION.INPUT+"-.PDF"
      Code:
      PRINT/REPORT,EXEC MODE=END,$
                    TO_FILE=ON,AUTO=1,AUTO OPEN=OFF,$
                    TO_PRINTER=OFF,COPIES=1,$
                    TO_DMIS_REPORT=OFF,FILE_OPTION=INDEX,FILENAME=REPORT_NAME,$
                    REPORT_THEORETICALS=NONE,REPORT_FEATURE_WITH_DIMENSIONS=NO,$
                    TO_EXCEL=OFF,$

      When having multiple print commands in a program, if you edit one of the two. Some of the settings will "stick" in the other print command.

      So maybe check the excel tab in the PDF print command to make sure the excel settings match the excel print command

    Are you saying that a dialog pops up, or Excel itself? What's your setting under F5, "Open report file when generated" - maybe that's interfering?

    Why not try an "Excel Form Report" - they can definitely be generated without any popups.

      The program is supposed to have the "SHow Report" box NOT checked.

      After I run the program once, PC DMIS CHECKS it by itself.

      This results in the EXCEL report automatically opening after the program Is complete. I can't have this happening because my future intent is to loop this program.

      Also, "Open Report File When Generated" IS NOT checked in my F5.

    Doesn't happen to me in 2019 R2. Maybe some access restrictions to the part program folder so the settings don't stay?

      If I go into my program folder, I actually see P2X files in there. I have never noticed them before and have no idea what they do.

      Is this part of my problem?

      The P2X files contain the settings for the Excel export. Plain text, you could try write protecting them after verifying that they have the right settings.

    go old school and use file/writelines.

    Before loop (This is formatted for output to measurlink, if you want all your data to output to one row, just comma separate each dimension):

    Code:
    C_FILE =FILE/OPEN,C_PATH,APPEND
    ASSIGN/C_PATH="C:\PRODUCTION\customer\part name.CSV"
    ASSIGN/PART="Part Number"
    ASSIGN/ROUTINE="Part Number CMM Startup"
    ASSIGN/TRACE_FOLDER="Traceability-CMM"
    ASSIGN/CHAR_1="AA #7 Position "
    ASSIGN/CHAR_2="AB.1 #10 Position "
    ASSIGN/CHAR_3="AB.2 #10 Position "
    ASSIGN/CHAR_4="AC #9 Position "
    ASSIGN/CHAR_5="AD #11 Position "
    ASSIGN/CHAR_6="AE #64 Position "
    ASSIGN/CHAR_7="AF #69 Position "
    ASSIGN/CHAR_8="AG.1 #129 Position "
    ASSIGN/CHAR_9="AG.2 #129 Position "
    ASSIGN/CHAR_10="AH #143 Position "
    ASSIGN/CHAR_11="AJ #58 Position "
    ASSIGN/CHAR_12="AK #18 Position "
    LOT_NUM =COMMENT/INPUT,NO,FULL SCREEN=NO,
    'Lot#?'
    CAV_1 =COMMENT/INPUT,NO,FULL SCREEN=NO,
    'What cavity is in station 1?'
    CAV_2 =COMMENT/INPUT,NO,FULL SCREEN=NO,
    'What cavity is in station 2?'
    CAV_3 =COMMENT/INPUT,NO,FULL SCREEN=NO,
    'What cavity is in station 3?'
    CAV_4 =COMMENT/INPUT,NO,FULL SCREEN=NO,
    'What cavity is in station 4?'
    USER =COMMENT/INPUT,NO,FULL SCREEN=NO,
    'Operator?'
    SCHEDULE =COMMENT/INPUT,NO,FULL SCREEN=NO,
    'Scheduled inspection time?'
    ASSIGN/RUN_ID=LOT_NUM.INPUT
    ASSIGN/OPERATOR=USER.INPUT
    ASSIGN/TIME=SCHEDULE.INPUT

    Witihin loop, at beginning, I have a bunch of logic to assign POS as the part cavity id number and PNUM as the fixture position number.
    Loop contents

    At end of loop:
    Code:
    FILE/WRITELINE,C_FILE,"/CAVITY ID/" + "," + TRACE_FOLDER + "," + "Position " + PNUM + "," + POS
    FILE/WRITELINE,C_FILE,"/DATA/" + "," + CHAR_1 + PNUM + "," + AA.D.MEAS
    FILE/WRITELINE,C_FILE,"/DATA/" + "," + CHAR_2 + PNUM + "," + AB_1.D.MEAS
    FILE/WRITELINE,C_FILE,"/DATA/" + "," + CHAR_3 + PNUM + "," + AB_2.D.MEAS
    FILE/WRITELINE,C_FILE,"/DATA/" + "," + CHAR_4 + PNUM + "," + AC.M.MEAS
    FILE/WRITELINE,C_FILE,"/DATA/" + "," + CHAR_5 + PNUM + "," + AD.M.MEAS
