  • Probes compensate offline in animation mode but not in execution ode on the machine

Part program animation offline(pic1), tip diameter compensates nicely in the animation. During execution on the machine there is no tip compensation. Anybody know what makes this happen?
    EDIT: pcdmis 2013mr1

no it runs fine, the second pic is when it properly takes a hit on the OD of the part, it just does not display the tip compensation in the graphic display during execution. The exact same program run offline animates it perfectly

thankfully this is also just being displayed that way

You need to use pathlines and collision detection in conjunction with watching the animation. I program 100% OFFLINE. I always used to watch the animation and I as I evolved I started to just look at the path lines for bad moves.

I've mostly programmed at the machine, only starting to bring in CAD models for offline lately... that last pic is the program start before the alignment is in I guess it is putting 0,0,0 on the part at the machine home position, I do not have the machine loaded to display in the graphics window

Once you program OFFLINE I think it will be hard to go back. Why program from the 1st piece part that will be "out" when you can program from aCAD and have the program ready days or weeks before the part is broght to you.

I want to do all programming offline Schlag but lost the seat. I still have the licensed dongle for the offline seat but my laptop got moved to a different department so the company is has actually paid for an offline seat I cannot use anymore, I can only program offline at a machine when it is not running parts... getting the dongle is usually the obstacle for most folks. I don't think mgmt realizes the limitations this has put on programming.

So you have a 10K dongle with no computer to use it on ? You dont have another computer anywhere ??? I think we have a whole room full here collecting dust.... Sounds like an absurdity from management that I can believe....

yes exactly that, I have the dongle but no PC set up to use it anymore, and no suitable PC or laptop in our dept to install pcdmis on for the offline seat. I have tried and failed for over one year to express this to mgmt... you hear me in a few seconds somehow

Hilarious and sad at the same time. Your PC would be paid for in a few weeks if you figured out the backup at the CMM to program......my god....
