  • CAD Model Not Snapping To Measured Features and Alignment

I transformed the CAD model to have the coordinate system be the same as the measured part. I also clicked the CAD = PART button after aligning everything. It worked, but the measured alignment features are pretty far away from the CAD Z origin. How do I bring that up to the origin (or is it the other way around)? I know there's a simple solution, but I'm a bit stumped as a greenhorn.

Hello, I am a student who has been tasked with learning how to operate the CMM in the lab I work in. It has not been used in years, and the last person to operate it graduated 4+ years ago. I have created a program but when I go to automate it I get a machine error TR_PRB01, no probing within Probelimit. This occurs whenever

I successfully followed your instructions in the link provided (I created features while in Program Mode and then measured the part itself). While the circle and line actually line up with the CAD model, the actual workplane (Z) is pretty far down and away from the CAD model.

You need to create your manual alignment on the CAD ? Did you create that on the part on the CMM ?

I followed louisd's instructions in the link he provided but the workplane is far below the CAD model.

This issue has been resolved, so no need. I simply did not translate the Z origin to my level plane.
