  • DF on PC-DMIS Report

    Hello everyone I have not been on for a long time. Stopped using the forum when they changed it a couple years ago but a friend at a previous employer asked me a question that I feel like I should know lol He asked me what DF means on a PC-DMIS report. I know I have seen it but cant remember where. Thanks in advance

    I assume this is in relation to legacy dimensions (example below) in which case DF would be the feature diameter. If you include datums, they would display as D1, D2 etc.

    Code:
    DIM LOC1= POSITION OF CYLINDER CYL1  USE AXIS=AVERAGE  REF LENGTH=0.000000  UNITS=MM ,$
    GRAPH=OFF  TEXT=OFF  MULT=10.00  OUTPUT=BOTH  FIT TO DATUMS=OFF  DEV PERPEN CENTERLINE=OFF  DISPLAY=DIAMETER
    AX NOMINAL +TOL -TOL BONUS MEAS DEV OUTTOL
    X   40.000000                                   40.000000   0.000000
    Y   30.000000                                   30.000000   0.000000
    DF  30.000000   0.010000  -0.010000             30.000000   0.000000   0.000000 ----#----
    TP        RFS   0.010000              0.000000   0.000000   0.000000   0.000000 #--------
    END OF DIMENSION LOC1

      Ahhh, yes. I have not been working with feature control frames for a while. Thank you.

    Dumb Factor. it's the uncertainty of the result.
    Joking aside, Diameter of Feature is the real answer.
