Profile to replace Position/Size

I have a large radius (>3") on a part but I only have about 5degrees of arc. We are supposed to hold +/-.005 on size and a .005 Position. We cannot measure this on anything we have.

I am suggesting a composite Profile control of .005 to the same DRF and .010 to no DRF. Will this accomplish the same thing?

What you could do (and somebody can correct me if I am wrong) is measure the size of the radius based on the small arc method posted above, but measure the position of the arc at the FIXED_RAD location.

Profile can imitate any of the other GD&T controls including position and size.

correct. agreed. try it out and let us know if it works for ya. The demon has left scars on us when we've been burned in the past, so we are creatures of habit once we determine a concrete solution. Small Arc method is one of them. We've all had to reluctantly learn it.
