  • Disk Probe calibration problems

Ok so this is the second time I ask how to calibrate a disk probe. The thing is that PC-DMIS doesn't let me calibrate a disk probe as it should. This is what my probe utilities window looks like.
I'm using SP25M, SM25-2. Some people told me on my previous post that this configuration will never work, that I need an adapter or whatever.

I just want to know if it's possible to calibrate a disk probe with this config. and if so, what do I need to do???

NO, you can NOT use a disk on a scanning setup, ONLY on touch-trigger hardware.

to calibrate a probe using the SM25 (Renishaw analog scanning unit), it has to analog-aly scan the probe on the cal-tool. Can't do that unless it is a ball, a disk is not a ball.

Ah, I gotcha.... so it's simply an issue with the way the SM25 calibrates not the fact it's a "Scanning setup"

yep, you have to use a ball probe on the SM25.

Do you have the TM25 adaptor? That uses TP20 modules on a SP25M body.
