Linear open scan using xyzijk points from a text file
I have a text file that has 110 XYZijk points. Is it somehow possible to read that file into a linear open scan so I can scan through those points. I am using an analog probe also.
I've been looking for a way to do this. Do you know of a way to have a variable tolerance zone when checking the profile of the scan? I have a blade slot with UOS .003" tolerance and .001" in the pressure faces. The tolerance transitions smoothly between the .003 & .001 faces which means one point will be ±.0005, the next is ±.0006, then ±.0007 until it gets to ±.0015. Is there a way to incorporate that transition in one profile or will I need to tolerance those points separately?
Marken199 199 sorry for high jacking your thread, but thanks for asking that question.

I don't know about continously, but the point cloud color map can at least handle different tolerances on different cad surfaces.
Thanks. That may or may not help me now, but it will definitely be good to know in the future. We have Hexagon coming in next week for one on one training. I'll have to add point clouds to my list of things to ask about.
So I am using cad++ 2009 and I am doing a open linear scan i have imported my iges file and i have done the scan how can i get it to show the points so...
Good Morning you lovely people
I am trying to scan the profile of this gear but i can't seem to get it to finish where i am telling it to! it finishes...
