THIS POST IS CONT'D FROM ORIGINAL POST "UPGRADING FROM LAP-TOP TO DESK TOP" 03-22-2019
FINALLY GOT MY IT GUY TO BUILD A NEW SYSTEM WITH WINDOWS 10 AND LARGE MONITOR.
CAN'T GET PORT LOCK ESTABLISHED or PC-DMIS 2010 INSTALLED ON NEW SYSTEM.

HAD PREVIOUS HELP FROM "JEFMAN PC-DMIS GURU" ...WHO REFERED ME TO (ftp://ftp.wilcoxassoc.com/licensing/hasp/ ?)
I'M NOT COMPLETELY SURE IF I HAVE A HASP ON LAP TOP. ITS A PORT LOCK THATS INSERTED IN THE USB.
IN ANY EVENT...FROM THE WEB SITE ABOVE, I DOWN LOADED "HaspSRMinstalls.zip" ONTO THE NEW DESK TOP. INSTALLED "hasp_software_key_installer.exe"

I HAVE A DISK FOR PC-DMIS 2010 AND TRIED installing BUT QUIKLY DISPLAYED ERROR: Hasp Driver Install Error. "unable to start hardlock service with parameters 1119 1275 1.

how can I get my port lock working on my new system.

    thank you

I could be wrong but I think you need to call Hexagon to move the license over. I would check that.

You'd only need to call if that HASP license was converted to LMS. Considering the old system was a laptop, this is my guess.

An active hasp dongle would suffice to authenticate running the PCDMIS for any PC it is plugged in to.
BCotter, it's possible your software license has been transferred from a HASP USB dongle to an online 'virtual' authentication system, AKA: LMS. If that's the case, that hasp dongle is functionally useless.

If this is the case, Hexagon would need to get involved to change it over, as @Darrolh mentioned.

Otherwise, you might have downloaded HASP drivers that's too advanced/new for the HASP dongle's embedded firmware. If you downloaded the latest and greatest HASP with let's say 256bit encryption, and your dongle is only capable of 128bit, they might not be talking as a result.

Either way, a call or ticket with Hexagon Support should steer you in the correct direction.
