Good morning to all. Since I went from 2012MR1 to 2016 the files where tools, probe changer and etc.has been moved into different locations.Noticed my computer is been acting funny and would like to know going forward in the future to newer versions what file do I need to back in a folder that will cover the tip builds, personnel setting (colors, screen setups) probe changer info and anything else one needs to backup. My .prg and .aln are backed up on a server, these files will also be put in a folder on the server but I need to know which ones I need. Thanks

Edit...Preferences...Set search path will help you find the probe directory (if you don't already know). Copy all the probe files into a backup.
C:\Program Files\Hexagon\{version} - find and copy all .dat files. You don't need all of them, but rather than have you forget one, grab all of them.
C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Hexagon\PC-DMIS\{version} - copy the entire directory.

OR, you can make your OWN directory, independent of what Pcdmis wants, so that upgrades won't screw them up, and set the search path to that. I don't use ANY of the default Pcdmis search paths, all my stuff are in MY folders, not Pcdmis folders.sigpic

no rack for me, so mine is easier:
C:\Pcdmis\
then
JOBS (then each part has a sub-directory, all the programs)
PROBES (all the probes)
DATABASE (Datapage RT, not the new garbage)
BATCH (for my batch files, I have a few)
BACKUP (batch files copy all the programs every night and place them in here, as well as a 2nd computer, and IT also backs them up every night)
The toolbars, can't put them in your own place, Pcdmis will not find them
