Hello,

I am wondering if anyone is currently using the discus software to populate their AS9102 forms with the CMM reports generated by PC-DMIS? If so what are some of the common issues you are seeing and do you think it is a significant time saver? We are currently looking into this software but haven't been able to find much information about the compatibility with PC-DMIS.

ask away i use it and to get the pc dmis import feature to work you need to make sure your bubbled and and your dimensions labels are the same

How does it work with GD&T dimensions? I read something online that it only was able to export legacy GD&T dimensions

discus just imports a csv file is all and tries to arrange it to the correct bubble number but before you do the finish import you have a step to adjust and change anything that might not be just right and save it as a template for your next use.

2019R2 now has this capability to import all your dimensions into a AS9102 Form.It hasnt been oficially released yet but it is working as I have tested it

this is true but neither are perfect but i would say discus can do it faster than you can set this up in pc dmis see the real issue is in my case im not having to send out new As9102 forms every time we make a order of parts only for rev changed or processes changes b/c we rarely don't meet the 1 year window that most our customers require before remaking the same part to have to send a new FAI. so in that case most time its just faster to just take a report and type it in by hand. but as i stated before where discus shines is in the rev changes or process changes for making up new inspection plans and paper work once the templates are all set up make a AS9102 form with all the requirements and print locations and all the header stuff and form 2 info its supper quick to export a form thats only missing results. but as if you want to gt the cmm plugin for discus it can take a csv file from dmis and auto fill that same form in with all the cmm result and once you get it set up once you will not have to set it up again

i know a few people use acrobat to bubble there prints and then by hand type in the requirements by hand if you get nice prints with nice line weight discus OCR cant be beat once tuned but on larg pdf files discus is gonna need a pretty strong computer to not lag like crazy also keep that in mine.(this has seemed to get better over the years)

Pc-Dmis has improved i. it auto fills everything for you all you do is to dimension the cmm report in order of the bubble drawing that you made and pcdmis fills the AS9102 Form for you.it is super easy now.If you dont believe me download the pre release from this forum front page website you will find how to get it.
