  • How to avoid points in alignment.

I am working with CMM pro. I normally create alignment with cad features in CMM probe. IN fact in one program, I used manual HIt to make plane for alignment. However, the new updated piece is having curve which makes flatness out of specification. So, I need to avoid three point or HIT of the plane in -Y axis. I don't know if I can remove the Hit points or not. Can I mark it so CMM probe can skip the HIT and CMM can finish program all the way in execution.

If it's a measured plane(versus an Autoplane) you can delete hits from it. But you need to be sure you have at least 3 hits left in the plane, more if you need flatness.

In your case I can't tell you if this is the right thing to do, but I can tell you it can be done.

I have moved my hits around. Especially, once I set up the part, I realize that the probe is going to hit or too close to the standoff.

Can I delete the HIT points in manual alignment. I think I will. Still have more than six Hit after I delete the HIts. Would it be okay to delete or marked so do you think CMM would be able to finish program?

If you have more than the required 3 hits for a plane and it's manual hits then you should be able to get away with it. The best way to find out is to do a dry run off-line.

It means I need to skip the HIT points in manual alignment with highlighting them sky blue color, right. I didn't understand your sentence. Am I right?

While this can be done, it will still calculate the plane based on all the hits, including the hits that weren't run. Since they weren't executed, the unmarked hits will have the same value as the last time they were run marked. This will skew the measurement of the plane.
