  • Program resetting tolerances.

I'm using PC-DMIS 2016 CAD++ and randomly throughout a program my tolerances are being reset to +0.0000, -0.0000. I'll fix them then when I run the part again they go back to what they were before. How do you guys fix this?

you could 'lock' them by adding an evaluation (ex: 0.005+0 or 0.005*1). It's a workaround but it works 100% of the time.

Where would I add that? When I highlight the tolerance in the program, just enter it as you show?

You can only add the math by manually typing in the tolerance field in the edit window Command Mode.

You shouldn't have to - double check that you have the Workplane settings right for the dimension.

There has always been speculation that Nominals and Tolerances will do screwy things in programs that do not have all 6 DOF constrained in the alignment...

You NEED to execute PCDLRN.EXE as admin.

(Please note: in 2016.0 and newer “WAI” is Replaced by “Hexagon”)

Plus, you NEED to specifically have admin rights to the following registry paths:
              HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\WAI
              HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WAI
              HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\WAI

Plus you NEED to specifically have admin rights to the following folders:
              Windows 7 Paths
              32 bit OS
              C:\Program Files\WAI
              C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\WAI
              C:\ProgramData\WAI

              64 bit OS
              32 bit APP
              C:\Program Files (x86)\WAI
              C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\WAI
              C:\ProgramData\WAI

              64 bit APP
              C:\Program Files \WAI
              C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\WAI
              C:\ProgramData\WAI

You NEED admin rights to all of the above (as applies to your system) in order to enable PCDMIS to run properly. I don't this is the cause to your dim tolerances being reset, but it's imperative either way.
