  • star probe auto feature OD circle possible?

I have a 4 way star probe. All tips same size and oriented in common X and Y axes. Simply put. Can I use the auto feature function and then measure the OD while the star probe automatically switches to each relevant tip for the hits? As of now, I am taking points, manually dictating each tip and then constructing a circle later. Is there a better way?

you can use measured circle select the points then change the tip select some more points change the tip until your done press end, the measured circle will have the tip changes in it

Instead of a Auto Circle, try a Measure circle in a measured circle you can easily insert movepoints or clearplanes and even probe tip or angles in between each hit if needed.

I've heard (but never looked) that at some point, at some version of Pcdmis, they added the ability to insert MOVE points in an autofeature circle, but I don't know if you can also add a tip change.

In 2019 R2 You can insert a copied move/clearplane or a copied movepoint
but not move/increment or a probe tip change

You can enter move points just by showing the hits within the auto feature moving your cursor between hits and insert move point there. No way to change tips within an auto feature

I prefer the vector points method.
By using the center of the OD to allow the use of Copy/Paste with pattern around the circle. Insert moves and probe changes needed before executing, then construct circle.

            THIS!
Best method I've found to quickly generate the feature and move on!. Try it, it's easier than you might think.

          +1
This will ensure each point is compensated with the data from the correct tip.

As Roberto and Schrocknroll say - use vector points.
