  • Open scan question

    Evening all,

Quick question, when I form a scan along a surface and convert to points it seems that the points are not going fully around tight rads for example and seems to jump the rad

I construct the scan by selecting the surfaces on the cad as normal and set nominal method to find nominals and exec control to defined, make sure cad comp is slected and boundary type is plane's. After all this I find the scan misses certain hits along the surfaces when you convert to points. Any ideas. Depending on where you set your 1, D and 2 points, the points can be missed between the points 1 and 2.?

    Thnaks.

What is your edge offset set to? Touch trigger or analog? Is the probe radius larger than the radius being measured? If continuous scanning, what speed?

...After all this I find the scan misses certain hits along the surfaces when you convert to points.
So.....do you see all the scan points when you NOT convert to (individual) points from your scan?
Also, you might wish to try increasing the scan crossings in increments of one. (but if 'double' scan points result, then probably from the crossings now too high)
OR maybe the CAD model is just not liked by the Demon.Try to re-import it again, but you might have tiny gaps in the surfaces. If you have the fancy native CAD format module to import stuff, then I'd be calling the HexaTechs post-haste!
