I'm probably posting this in the wrong area but maybe someone can help.. What is the surface finish standard (125 or better? 32 or better?) according to ASME Y14.5-1994 when it is not stated on the blueprint

Your customer will provide this information. If it's not on the print, then it is probably buried in a parts list, supplier quality requirements, or supplier spec. Y14.5 does not mandate a specific roughness. ASME B46.1 is the standard for surface texture. You can purchase one here:
