Quick edge point question

Evening all

Just looking for some clarification. Does it matter what surface you select when you take an edge point, for example 3 sample hits and 2 edge points. Does it matter what surface is the 3 sample hits? . I belive the answer is no?

technically, yes.

one will determine the edge vector and the other will determine the distance from the surface in which the hits will be taken. Check out the help file to see what the specifics are.

Ok, An edge point is useful on thin sheet metal where the edge position can vary from part to part.

The first 3 hits will indicate the surface vector nominal. The next 2 hits will find the edge vector. The last hit indicates the actual edge point location.
In this case it does matter.
