  • Measure hole distance from an angled surface.

    Good morning,
I need some help. I am measuring a hole distance that's on an angled surface. I cannot get this dimension right for the life of me. Please help. I am measuring from hole 13 to plane 4. I have attached a snip. Capture.14.PNG

im not exactly sure what you are asking but i think you need to measure the circle as a cylinder and then intersect it with what even plan its starts from and then you should be able to dimension the intersection point to plan 4

Is Hole13 not pictured in the view, or is it the radius that CIR13 is visually pointing to?

If it's truly a hole not pictured, make a plane that's normal to the top plane that hole13 is coming from. then, make a cylinder for hole13. Intersect plane to cylinder to create a point, distance the point from plane4.

I did that and I am still coming up 0.010 short.

Can you post the code ? (it will help about vectors, number of hits...)
Is it possible that the part is out ?

ok so your CAD theo is per print? or is maybe your CAD wrong? lol

Did you try "Reset measured values to nominal” like DmisDave suggest ?
I’m programming offline to a model. Occasionally I see deviation in the CMM report of a feature. When I go back and look at the points, I sometimes see a difference between THEO’s and ACTL’s. I right click them and pick “Reset measured values to nominal” refresh the feature and refresh the dimensions and they read

Thank you all for your input. Turns out the CAD and the print is wrong. Thanks again!!
