  • Optional probe statement for analog probe

Do I need to put a Opt Probe statement at the beginning of each program I write or just before the calibration. and do I need it for all programs or just the ones I use the scanning feature on?

I believe Hexagon recommends having it just before the load probe command in all measurement routines.

If you are using an analog probe it's always a good idea to have it in there.

Unless you use the same program copy in different CMMs with different hardware - in that case it might be better to ensure that the PC-DMIS *defaults* (F10) are correct for each CMM, and *not* change them with a command in the program.

what if we are using an analog probe as a TTP? Or is it just for scanning?

not as critical but generally a good habit to have.
