  • Finding Dimisions for True Position

    Good morning,
This is probably in the wrong place but I am trying to get dimensions from a drawing with TP. How do I go about that without involving engineering? (They are RUDE here)

From the CAD, if you have it that is.

I have the CAD model. I have the CMM program in front of me. Trying to make sense of it. It was written by someone else.

Go to the top of the program. Create the auto features that are datums on the print. Align the part to the datums, then create the TP features to see the basic nominals.

Measure all the datum features. Create you alignment from the measured DATUMS( duplicating the feature control frames ) , then measure the features and dimension.

Does your print show you the basic dimensions for the feature in question?

I'm with Paul.. better safe than sorry. Can you screen shot or get any way to post the actual print feature? There could be modifiers or something else that needs looked at. ??
