  • Probe Utility Tools not found

IT loaded ver 2019 onto laptop. When I try to build a probe there is nothing there. Is there a Utilities file that needs to be loaded onto the laptop?

Are you clicking on No Probe Defined first (drop list appear empty if you're not)

Yes, that is how I found out there is no probe utilities installed. There is the Probe.dat file for 2019

Have you tried copying the C:\Users\Public\Documents\Hexagon\PC-DMIS\2019 R1\ file from the CMM computer and pasting on the laptop?

There is a new favorites button next to the new shopping button in the calibration window, make sure it's not active.

Thanks Peter, that was it. What is the favorites button for?

I honestly haven't touched 2019 yet, I'm not technically part of the apps group so I don't get the exposure through the training classes. I only know this because I fielded a tech support with the same question.

Favorites is a filter, so you don't have to wade through all possible items in the probe build list. If you mark everything you actually own as Favorite you can click the Favorite button, and only see those you have marked, when building a new probe.

So what brilliant rocket scientist at Wilcox decided to have this new Favorites button on by default for a new install where no probes are built yet, leading to both Peter's tech support call and this thread?

That makes perfect sense to me. Which is cool. Because there are only a few things I would need to filter. Thanks
