  • Circular move from point to point?

    PC DMIS CAD 2018 R2 SP4

    Hi all,

    Please see code below.

    Is there a way to get the probe to move circularly around the part to measure these points (like it would act if I used an auto-circle)?

    As you can see, I am currently using clearance planes to "jump" around the part and I just don't like how it looks.

    nope, it only works for a 'circular' feature as far as I know, not something that can be done between vector points, it would need to know a radius and center point.

      Is there a way to force those point "nominals" into an auto-circle?

    You might be able to if you are using a version that lets you SHOW HITS, then type them all in.

      This absolutely did work, but was annoying to type out with my dyslexia haha! Will just be sticking with my clearance planes but am gad to know this is an option

    You are measuring an OD ? Maybe increase your retract distance ? Use avoidance moves instead of clearplane ?

    key in a MOVEPOINT between points, turn on FLYMODE and make the setting high. You can play with this until it moves the way you want it to

    From your profile your using a variety of different controllers.
    Not all of them will support fly mode.
    The Leitz and Mistral won't.

      definitely want to check that out because if you turn on FLYMODE and your controller doesn't support you'll more than likely lose a probe tip or possible more.... burnt n learnt the hard way

      Thanks guys, I am familiar with fly and how it works, I got it to work on one of my machines for this program...but ultimately I just stuck with the clearance planes
